Pallet Shelf

Alright so today I'm posting about the boyfriend bringing home a pretty sexy pallet from work, when I say sexy I mean SEXY looking pallet, and we decided to make a shelf for our spices in the kitchen.
The pallet isn't solid wood but particleboard glued in layers with a thin sheet of veneer on the front. We've burned many pallets in our day and this was the best one we've ever seen, so of course what do we do? We upcycle! :D
The sexy pallet!

Ok so this is what we started with. We measured the area above the stove to figure out the dimensions of the future shelf.

Then started on the destruction of the pallet!

After sawing off the pieces that we needed, the top piece, the triangle corners and the back support piece, he began to assemble the thing.
Sorry for taking pictures of all the pieces before he went to town, I was distracted by birds and hikers :)

Make sure all the pieces are flush together so it sit evenly against the wall.

When you're done admiring our SUPER awesome retro range ;) you will notice the sad empty space on the wall.

BAM!!!!
Now thats a shelf worth blogging about!

This blog is dedicated to showing and teaching you the intricacies of the classy life. Being broke or a cheap ass doesn't mean that you have to give up on the finer things in life. Luxury is a perception. i.e. People will pay outrageous prices for some shitty art. But it's worth it to them so more power to em'.
We have just moved into our new apartment together for the first time so this is the perfect guinea pig situation for us to class a new place up!
We'll talk about food, beer, wine, home 'improvements', music, daily things, randoms, and share how we made it..

..Classy as Fuggh
