As far as a budget friendly alcoholic beverage of choice, red wine wins. Hands down.
What's classier? Courvoisier? Cristal? Please.. we are not rappers.
Given that we are living in Utah, and they water down their beer to a 3.2% by volume (criminal right!?), wine has an average of 8.9% alcohol by volume or greater. Second, it tastes great and its good for you. How can you argue against an alcoholic beverage that is actually doctor recommended everyday! Even if you don't love the taste of red wine at first it does grow on you. I mean, how many of us instantly fell in love with the beer's taste upon our first sampling? Thirdly, its pretty cheap. Why do you think homeless folks are known as winos, not beeros or whiskeyos. Cause wine is inexpensive! You can find a decent bottle of wine ranging from $5 to $10 and when you're mainly just drinking to feel that warm fuzzy feeling of liquid comfort, that is a BARGAIN!
You don't need to know the differences between a Merlot and a Shiraz. All you need to know is red wine is CLASSY AS FUGGH! And a good sized bottle will get two people drunk.
Try These.
Foxhorn wine (Big ass bottle [1.5L] for $9) and I'd grab the Merlot
Barefoot wines (5-9 dollars a bottle) and the Pinot Noir is one of their bests.
Ravenswood wines (7-10 bucks a bottle) and again with the Merlot.
Yellow Tail wines ($5-$10 a bottle) and the Merlot and the Cabernet Sauvignon are among the best.
DO NOT get anything that comes in a box. That's Trashy as Fuggh.
Also avoid wines that you have seen ads for or heard radio commercials about. e.g. Arbor Mist, Corbett Canyon.
There ya go, some nice cheap bottles to play around with and get a classy drunk on!
*Classy as Fuggh does endorse red wines. Merlots may lead to excellent cooking ideas. Cabernet Sauvignon may lead to pillow forts.
Try Oak Ridge? Oak Leaf? at Walmart. Under $3.00!
ReplyDeleteThey don't sell wine in the Walmarts here in Utah :/
